Day 2

Good Morning! I worked out again this morning...YAY! I started with a general warm up which I am going to do everyday regardless of what workout I do.

Touch Toes: 15
Lunges: 10 per leg
Side Lunges: 10 per side
Butt Kicks: 75 feet (or 7 times across my garage floor)
High Knees: 75 feet (or 7 times across my garage floor)
Arm Circles: 20
Trunk Twists: 20
Side Bends: 20 per side

I went for my walk 1.4 miles. I walked for 5 minutes, then jogged for 60 steps/walked 60 steps. I alternated 5 times and then walked for 5 minutes. I did this back and forth all the way home. I also stopped at a park bench to do 10 bench push ups. I'm hoping to increase my time jogging as I get used to it.
Yes, I know I keep doing the on again off again thing, but as long as I keep trying eventually it will stick. And starting over and over is better than giving up completely.

This morning I did a general warm up:
Touch Toes: 15
Lunges: 10 per leg
Side Lunges: 10 per side
Butt Kicks: 75 feet (or 7 times across my garage floor)
High Knees: 75 feet (or 7 times across my garage floor)
Arm Circles: 20
Trunk Twists: 20
Side Bends: 20 per side

Butt Kicks and High Knees are really tough! They look so easy, but when I actually do these exercises...WOW can I ever feel it!

Then I went for a walk/run. For those of you who know me you know that running and I do not get along even when I was in shape many many years ago.

I didn't go far but I'm trying out interval training. I was going to walk for 35 minutes but I realized I only had 15 minutes left before I needed to get home and get ready for work I just stuck to the park paths.

I walked to the park and at the beginning of the path I ran for 60 steps and then walked for 60 steps. I did this back and forth for 15 minutes ending up back home.

Tomorrow the plan is to walk moderately for 15 minutes and then do the 60 seconds of running/60 seconds of walking. I will repeat the walk/run 5 times finishing with 15 minutes of moderate walking. (Since I do not have a stop watch I will be using the 60 steps method.)

My goal is to come up with a routine that works best for me. Something I can stick to and do while at home. I've seen a lot of workouts that would be great, but going to a gym just isn't going to work for me right now. So, I will improvise and come up with something that works for me even when the snow flies.

I did go biking Saturday (5.2 miles/8.4 km) and Sunday (1.8 miles 2.9 km) but I ate junk food all weekend.

My focus now is also to eat healthier and no more takeout, unless it's a low fat sub. I still don't want to count calories if I can help it. If I eat healthier and keep my portion size under control I should be okay. I just have to remind myself weight loss doesn't come easy. It's a long process, it's a lifestyle change, which is why I don't want to count calories.

Until tomorrow!

I know it's been too long since I've updated my blog. Life has a way of getting away with you. Last week I did go on Monday for a bike ride for 4.3 miles. Tuesday I boxed for 30 minutes on the Wii.
Tuesday night the Riley was up for half the night. In fact from Tuesday - Thursday night Riley was up half the night. Saturday I did a lot of exercising, I swear I got all my exercise for the week on Saturday.
Saturday morning I brought my in-laws car home around 5:30 am and then walked home. In the afternoon I walked with my mom and the kids up to my in-laws and then back again. Then I went to wrap a present for my friends wedding and realized I had no boxes! So I biked all over looking for something to wrap the gift in. I did finally find something and it all worked out, but I was exhausted by 11 pm.

Guilty

So it's Friday and I've slept in every day this week. I tried to sleep in this morning too, but I started to feel guilty about not going since I went to bed early enough last night. So I got up, added some new music to my ipod and went for a walk.

Total Distance: 1.4 miles (2.25 km)

Good Morning. I went for a bike ride this morning. My first official bike ride - on purpose - in a couple of weeks. It felt good. So after all my skunk sitings one got into my garbage. Thanks for the mess, little rascals....><

Total Distance: 3.6 miles (5.9 km)
I debated this morning since it's Saturday whether to go or not. In the end I opted to go. I want to get back into a routine and the best way to do that is to go every day. I walked 1.8 miles (2.9 km). There was a light drizzle but it was still quite warm and with everything wet I didn't do my bench push ups.

Total: 1.8 miles (2.9 km)
I woke up at 5 am and went for a walk! I don't want to jinx myself by saying I'm back on track or anything, but it felt great! I even left right away. Usually I dally until 5:30 and then head out. This morning I was up and dressed and out the door by 5:05.

I briefly considered going on my long walk since I left so early but I didn't want to push myself too hard too fast. I did my 1.4 mile route. I brought my weights with me and used them along the way. I also did 32 push ups. My first set of 16 went very well with my second set I struggled a little but was able to continue without stopping.

The wind was so beautiful this morning. It was one of those heavy winds that make you think anything is possible. For the first time since the days have grown shorter I actually enjoyed the dark. Between the wind and the dark it felt like I had the world to myself. Well to myself and the skunk...yep he was out and about again. At least I always notice him well before crossing paths.

Since I left so early I had lots of time to get ready. I did my daily devotions without rushing. Then I got breakfast and lunch together before having my shower and getting dressed for work.

I feel pretty good today. I'm hoping the energy keeps with me for the whole day. I will keep you up to date with my progress as I go along. I'm really hoping this is the beginning of being routine again.

It's Tuesday, my first day back at work after the long weekend. I biked yesterday but not today. If I can work it out I'd like to go for a walk this evening, but I'm usually pretty tired by the time I get home so we'll see. I tried to get up at 5 this morning, but reset the alarm to 6. I'm trying not to push too hard too soon. Everyday I feel a little better, I'm hoping by the end of the week I'll be feeling tip top again.

Monday Total: 1.7 miles (2.8 km)
Biking: 1.7 miles (2.8 km)
